I called up Robert Allen, author of the famed Nothing Down," the bestseller that has sold more books than any other on the subject of real estate. I said, "I'd like to write a book about how your techniques work when filtered through the eyes of a woman, namely me!" I was delighted when he said yes.

Later, as I was surveying my friends to choose the perfect title, I kept saying, "Well, think of it as kind of a Nothing Down for women."

After a few weeks of hearing me say that, my husband, Duncan, asked, "Why don't you just call Bob and ask him if you could turn it into 'Nothing Down for Women'"?

When I asked Robert Allen, he thought it was a splendid idea, and so a new book was born, to teach women the ins and outs of real estate investing.

The subtitle became "The Smart Woman's Quick-Start Guide to Real Estate Investing."
